APHIS to Hold Foreign Animal and Poultry Disease Advisory Committee Meeting
WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service will hold a meeting of the Foreign Animal and Poultry Disease Committee from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 4 and 5.
The meeting will be held at the USDA Center at Riverside, 4700 River Rd., Riverdale, Md.
Members of the committee advise the secretary of agriculture on necessary actions to prevent the introduction of foreign poultry and livestock diseases into the United States. Should these diseases be found, the committee also recommends contingency plans so that a state of preparedness is maintained.
