Meat imports rise in 2003
UK - Pigmeat imports rose sharply last year, according to latest figures from the Meat and Livestock Commission. The flow of foreign beef into the UK also jumped. The value of imported pigmeat climbed 40% (or 3131m) in 2003 compared with the previous year, to 3462m.
