Imports stall pig price rises
UK - Cheap imports have put a lid on the recent rise in UK pig prices. Spot quotes for bacon were generally unchanged last week (w/e Feb 20), at 102-104p/kg, with lighter pigs worth 4-6p above this. The recent slow rise of the UK Adjusted Euro-Spec Average and Deadweight Average Pig Price has puzzled many in the trade.
