Belarus Bans All Kiev Pork, Pig and Pork Product Exports Following ASF Outbreak

BELARUS - In connection with the case of African Swine Fever (ASF) that was reported in the Ukraine, Belarus has now banned the import of pork from the Kiev region.

The ASF virus was detected in a wild boar found dead in the Brovary district of Kyiv region.

In this regard, on 12 May Belarus issued a ban on imports from the territory of live pigs, pork (including wild boar meat) and processed products, reports Naviny.BY.

The ban also includes leather, horn, hoof, raw intestines, bristles hunting trophies derived from animals of susceptible species, feeds and feed additives for animals of vegetable and animal origin, not heat treated and made ??from raw materials originating in the Kiev region.

The ban also applies to the delivery of used equipment for keeping, slaughter and butchering of pigs.
