India Changes Import Requirements for Pork, Pork Products
INDIA - The Indian Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying, and Fisheries (DADF) has recently published a draft veterinary certificate with changes to imported pork and pork products.The draft combines two separate veterinary certificates for pork and processed pork meat, and includes modifications, deletions, or additions to these import requirements.
For example, the draft no longer prohibits the use of feeds produced from internal organs, blood meal, and tissues of ruminant origin.
India’s draft veterinary certificate for imported pork and pork products is now published on the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) website for comment.
The deadline for comments is May 15, 2015.
