The position recently became available following the resignation of Carol Hein of Missouri who has taken a post outside the pork industry.

Mr Henry, who is already a member of the Pork Checkoff’s Pork Safety Committee, was selected from eight nominations that were ranked by the National Pork Act Delegate Body during its annual meeting in March. He joins the Pork Board in Chicago at the end of August to discuss budgets and its Plan of Work process. He will also be involved in three committees within the Board – budget, audit or administrative.

Mr Henry has a wealth of experience in the pork industry, having served on the Environmental Committee, the Pork Quality Solutions Committee and the Air Quality Committee.

He owns and manages a 1,500-sow farrow-to-finish operation in Kansas, that markets 25,000 pigs a year.
